After five days without any baseball, the World Series beckons.
In quite possibly the least predictable World Series ever, two Wild Card teams will play for the Commissioner's Trophy. In Game 1, Madison Bumgarner will face off against James Shields on what should be a spectacular night for baseball in Western Missouri. I'd recommend that you guys watch these games, because we're about to go over five months without "real" baseball, which is quite depressing to think about.
If I were to make a prediction for this series, I'd go with the Giants. Being able to trot out Madison Bumgarner twice in a series is a huge advantage, and I think that he'll be the difference and spoil the Royals' magical run. Oh yeah, and the whole "it's an even year" thing. Can't forget about that small detail now, can we?
Anyway, here's to one more series of baseball before a long hiatus.
