Sims and Elander Take Home Top Organizational Honors

Pitcher Lucas Sims and outfielder Josh Elander headlined the Braves 2013 Minor League awards.

The Braves handed out their top organizational awards this weekend, honoring some of their top minor league players in the system. 19-year-old Lucas Sims (Rome) was named the organization’s Pitcher of the Year, while 22-year-old outfielder Josh Elander (Rome/Lynchburg) was named Player of the Year. Both players were selected in the 2012 draft, which has already produced Braves impact rookie, Alex Wood. Below are the rest of the Braves’ Minor League award winners from the 2013 season.

Gwinnett Braves (AAA):

Pitcher – David Hale

Player – Joey Terdoslavich

Mississippi Braves (AA):

Pitcher – Gus Schlosser

Player – Tommy La Stella

Lynchburg Hillcats (A+):

Pitcher – Williams Perez

Player – Robby Hefflinger

Rome Braves (A):

Pitcher – Shae Simmons

Player – Jose Peraza

Danville Braves (Rk):

Pitcher – Andrew Waszak

Player – Victor Caratini

GCL Braves (Rk):

Pitcher – Oriel Caicedo

Player – Victor Reyes

DSL Braves (Rk):

Pitcher – Felix Falcon

Player – Kelvin Estevez
