The Braves begin their last regular season series tonight with four game set at home vs. the Phillies. The Braves dropped a half game below the Cardinals to the 2 seed for the postseason with the loss last night but currently have a 2 game lead over the Dodgers on the 3 seed.
David Hale makes his second career start tonight after pitching five shutout innings with nine strikeouts and one walk in his major league debut on Sept. 13. After that, the probable playoff rotation order (Medlen, Minor, Teheran) will be on display in their final tuneups before postseason play begins.
The Braves have won four of their six home games against the Phillies so far this season, but they did get swept in Philadelphia earlier this month. It sure would be nice to win the series, secure home-field advantage for both the NLDS and NLCS, and feel confident going into the playoffs.
