What. A. Lineup.
Is there a way to go back to Spring Training to see if this is literally the worst lineup the Braves have put on the field this year?
Scouting Report: We know Gio Gonzalez by this point as well. Essentially, he's a fastball-curveball pitcher, and if the curveball is working, it could be a long night for the Braves. The trick, however, is to be patient and let Gonzalez work himself into trouble as his control does waver.
Analysis: The 24-25% K rate is always nice, but as I mentioned, the 9-10% BB rate will always hold Gonzalez back a bit. In fact, his 2012 and 2013 seasons are pretty similar from a peripheral standpoint, but his HR/FB has spiked by 5 percentage points. 2012 was a bit of a mirage as far as that went, and he's come back to normal this season. He's still a good pitcher, but he's not the elite guy he was last season.
