Charlotte Knights 2, Gwinnett Braves 1
- BJ Upton CF: 0-3
- Philip Gosselin 2B: 1-4
- Ernesto Mejia 1B: 1-4, 2B (24)
- Brandon Boggs RF: 1-3, 2B (15)

- Mark Lamm: IP, 2H, ER, 0BB, 0K
Gwinnett and Charlotte were tied throughout until the Knights took the lead in the 9th off Mark Lamm. It was BJ Upton’s first rehab game – he went 0-3 with a groundout, fly out and a strikeout. As Upton stated, he won’t try to rush back, a smart decision considering the Braves continue to roll. Cody Martin had a phenomenal 120 pitch outing, going eight innings surrendering one run. Martin was TC’s 7th ranked prospect mid-season and has continued to show why he jumped up many rankings, posting a 119:48 strikeout-to-walk in 113.2 innings across AA and AAA. His great start was spoiled in the 9th, but the offense wasn't of much help either. Gwinnett only collected four hits on the night, which included doubles from Ernesto Mejia and Brandon Boggs.

Tommy La Stella roped two singles and coaxed a walk, extending his hitting streak to 19 games. La Stella, TC’s 12th ranked prospect, was one of the guys I highlighted mid-season. In 225 PA, he has posted a .352/.436/.495 slash including three walks for every two strikeouts. Michael Lee took the loss, going six innings giving up three runs on eight hits. Ryne Harper threw the 9th and now has a 1.76 ERA and 39:13 strikeout-to-walk in 41 innings this season.

Errors doomed Danville in the late innings, falling to Bluefield 7-2 in a rain shorted eight-inning contest. Jared Dettmann went five strong, giving up one run. He walked one and struck out six in his fourth start of the season. Things got ugly for Richie Tate, who gave up six runs on seven hits, however only two of these runs were earned. Johan Camargo, Mikey Reynolds and Justin Black all committed errors allowing the game to get out of hand late. Camargo and Reynolds did however reached base three of the four times they were at the plate. Camargo hit his sixth double of the season, but proceeded to get thrown out at third attempting to steal.
