Rosterbation run the deadline

Almost every year the Braves make some sort of deal at the trade deadline. Whether those deals are big or small it doesn't really matter.

I would be very surprised to see the Braves make a big splash move this year for a couple of reasons. First they simply don't have to and second they really don't have the minor league ammunition to pull off a monster trade.

I see them pursuing a left handed reliever and in my opinion it will be either Mike Dunn of Mike Gonzalez, both are familiar to the Braves and neither would cost a bundle in prospects.

Gonzalez has right around $1M still owed to him this year while Dunn only has about $200K still owed.

And just for fun a really out there trade.

Braves get: Neal Cotts and Joey Gallo

Rangers get: Paul Maholm, William Beckwith and cash

Why the Braves do it: Maholm is not coming back next year and the Braves aren't even going to give him an offer so this is a way for them to get something for him. Cotts has been dominating this season. Gallo has a ton of power but his swing needs work. He's a prospect but there's still time with him.

Why the Rangers do it: After Holland and Darvish the Rangers rotation is pretty bad. Ogando hasn't been bad but he's completely unreliable and Darvish is on the DL with a strained right trap. The Rangers have to prospects to pull off a big trade for a starter but have been reluctant in the past to part with them. Cotts is their number 2 lefty in the pen and Gallo is buried behind 2 players in Beltre and Olt so his loss doesn't hurt them.
