If you thought yesterday's lineup was depleted, this one is emaciated. Already without the entire starting outfield, Freddie Freeman's left thumb doesn't appear to be cooperating, and he's not in the lineup, though it's unclear if the Fan Vote winner will play in the All-Star Game. Evan Gattis, however, is making his return to Atlanta, and we're all happy to see him back. Brian McCann will also get a day, but that appears to be because of the long week and lefty Tony Cingrani on the mound. Now the lineup officially looks like an away game during Spring Training, which means the Braves will probably score 10 runs.

Tony Cingrani

Scouting Report: There's very little surprise with lefty Tony Cingrani. It's gonna be a fastball. Using deception and 93 mph or so, Cingrani has had quite a bit of success by throwing his fastball more than 80% of the time. Cingrani will add the traditional mix of curveball-slider-change-up, but they're all used fairly sparingly, with the change-up being the worst of the three.

Analysis: The league may catch up to Cingrani's fastball-only ways, but for now, the Reds are just fine with Cingrani's 30% K rate and 10% BB rate. The walks are a bit high, but when you're striking out so many guys, it doesn't matter all that much. The other minor drawback is that Cingrani gives up a lot of flyballs, and that along with his 16% HR/FB rate has inflated his FIP to 4.08 - his xFIP (generally better to use over excessively small samples like this) is 3.34.
