Mike Minor almost made it too difficult, however. He loaded the bases in the first before getting a strikeout and a liner for the last out, and he gave up the only two runs of the night in the second inning. After that, Minor turned back into Ben's favorite pitcher and dominated the Reds' lineup, finishing up with 7 innings of 6-hit ball with 7 strikeouts and a walk.
It also took the Braves a little while to get going, but Brian McCann started off the Braves' scoring with a home run for the second straight night. Then the outfield took over. Reed Johnson and Joey Terdoslavich led off the fifth inning with a single and double, respectively, and Mike Minor followed with a two-run double of his own to put the Braves on top 3-2. An inning later, recent call-up Jose Constanza laced one of his three hits on the day to drive in a run. An inning later, Dan Uggla put the game out of reach with a solo home run, his 17th on the season.
The makeshift outfield of Joey Terdoslavich, Reed Johnson, and Jose Constanza went 7-for-11 on the day with a double and an RBI.
