Ernesto Mejia continued his dominance of Triple-A collecting his 19th double of the season. He now has 40 extra base hits in 2013. Mississippi got themselves in an early hole Sunday giving up four runs in the first inning. Yohan Flande, who was sent down from Triple-A, was touched up early before settling in. The Mississippi offense was held in check only putting together four hits, though three went for extra bases. Tommy La Stella made his first start since the beginning of June, going 0-2 before getting pulled. If La Stella could just stay on the field he could have a solid shot to play on a team somewhere, even if it isn't with Atlanta.

Rome lost on an extra innings walk off yesterday, falling to Savannah 2-1. Wes Parsons had a phenomenal start, throwing six innings of shutout baseball, striking out nine. This start now brings his strikeout-to-walk to 41:8, in 41.1 innings of work. Kyle Wren hit safely again, his fourth game in a row with Rome. Eric Garcia reached base safely in three of his four plate appearances while adding his fourth double of the season.

  • Jean Carlos Gil: 3IP, 5H, 3ER, BB, 4K

Danville was the final affiliate to lose Sunday, 6-3. They were out hit 12-5 and recorded no extra base hits. They also only took one walk and struck out 14 times. It's quite impressive they could actually push three runs across. Victor Caratini has slowed from his hot start and fanned four times yesterday. SS Mikey Reynolds did reach base two of his four plate appearances, but had a throwing error in the field. On the mound, Matt Marksberry made his second appearance of the season going 1.1 innings giving up four runs (three earned).
