Draft Day - Possible Braves...

For MLB, the draft begins tonight. This isn't like the NBA or NFL, we probably won't see these players reach the majors for awhile, if they even do at all. However, it is a huge step in building the franchise. Below are some names that could be picked up by Atlanta over the next couple of days. Click their names for more info on the player.

The following players could be available for Atlanta's first pick:

Hunter Dozier, SS/3B - Currently a SS for Stephen F. Austin. He's 6-4, 220lbs and will probably move over to 3rd Base at the professional level.

Tim Anderson, SS JUCO. Good write up over at Lone Star Ball. Doubtful that he makes it to Atlanta's first pick.

Stephen Tarpley, LHP JUCO. A sleeper pick for the Braves first pick and could possibly be available in the 2nd round as well. Previously drafted by Cleveland but chose to attend USC before transferring to a JUCO close to his home.

Hunter Harvey, RHP High School. Harvey has not committed to a college and has made it clear that he is signable and ready to begin a professional career. He might not make it to Atlanta's first pick due to having no signability risk.

Hunter Green, LHP High School. SBNation scouting report says it all. Should be available with our first pick.

The following names are players to look at after the first pick:

Mason Smith, OF High School. Rumored to have worked out for Braves.

Clinton Hollon, RHP High School.

Brett Morales, RHP High School.

John Sternagel, 3B High School.

Trey Michalczewski, 3B High School.

Drew Dosch, 3B Youngstown State.

Tony Kemp, 2B Vanderbilt.

Of course it's highly possible that none of these guys get taken by the Braves. Who would you like to see the Braves select in the draft??
