This was the team I had pegged Francisco to be traded to. He will probably learn first base and be the team's primary option there for at least the short term as they get some of their guys healthy. I still did not like DFA'ing Fransico, the team does not have much power from that side on the bench and it could become an issue down the line. With that said, it is not a huge loss.
Keeling is a 25-year-old lefty-reliever at double-A. He has strikeout potential but a lot of control problems. At this point, the hope is that he ends up becoming a reliable LOOGY. He had a 3.18 ERA at double-A for the Brewers in 17 innings, and has only been used as a reliever in his professional career. The team could use some bullpen depth, especially from the left side with the likely departures of now hurt Eric O'Flaherty and Jonny Venters, and that's what Keeling will provide for the next couple of years.
