I have my problems with Fredi and FW too, the biggest one lately is Fredi not pinch hitting McCann for Laird in the 10th inning on Wednesday, but we are still only 3.5 games out of being the best team in baseball and 5.5 games up in our division. Yet we still have crazy ideas like getting rid of Heyward (0.9 WAR and missed almost a month of the season and still a low BABIP), Justin Upton (1.4 WAR and battling a hand injury), McCann (0.9 WAR and missed over a month of season, not to mention a day or more off each week), Simmons (1.0 WAR with a pretty low BABIP and isn't really known for his bat to begin with), and Uggla (0.7 WAR and he is actually a second half player). I don't see how these guys are AA players. Sure I would like to see more out of a these guys, but the season is barely to the halfway point and all we can do is bitch about how terrible this team is? How about being grateful for being 5.5 games up over the projected World Series winner, Nationals, despite the issues that we have come across ourselves, instead of condemning every starting position player on our team outside of Freddie Freeman (0.8 WAR by the way).
On a side note, I do still have faith in BJ Upton, despite not being the biggest fan of the signing this off season (mostly because of how much we gave him and especially compared to what the next biggest offer was), but I cannot blame people for being upset with his -0.1 WAR thus far for $15+ million a year.
