Gwinnett won their game with the Bison last night despite mustering only 3 hits. Matt Pagnozzi hit his third homer of the year, but the story here is Cody Martin. Martin was promoted to Gwinnett before the game to start, and dazzled in his International League debut. Martin allowed only 3 baserunners across 7 shutout innings, while whiffing 7. In 11 AA starts, Martin posted a 71/27 K/BB ratio along with a sparkling 2.82 ERA and a .250 BAA. He's doing his best to force his way into Atlanta's long term plans.
Carolina League All-Stars 12, California League All-Stars 2

- Robby Hefflinger, LF: 3-5, 2 2B, R, 2 K
- Ronan Pacheco, RP: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K
The Braves were well represented at the Carolina League All-Star Game and made the most of it. David Rohm had a pinch-hit, 2 RBI single, while Robby Hefflinger played the whole game and went 3-5 with 2 doubles.
SAL South All-Stars 1, SAL North All-Stars 2
- Levi Hyams, 2B: 1-2, HR
- Josh Elander, LF: 0-1, BB, K, SB
- Eric Garcia, 3B: 0-3, K
- Shae Simmons, RP: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
Once again, the Rome Braves were well represented at the Sally League All-Star Game. Levi Hyams produced the only scoring the South team would get all day, knocking a solo homer in the top of the first inning. Josh Elander drew a walk and stole a base while playing left field. Eric Garcia went 0-3, and Shae Simmons got two outs pitching in relief.
DSL Brewers 4, DSL Braves 5
- Carlos Castro, 1B: 2-3, HR(1), 2 R, 2 RBI - .229/.256/.371
- Kelvin Estevez, LF: 1-2, R, 2 BB, K - .289/.448/.311
- Gerald Chin, DH: 1-3, R, BB, K - .302/.446/.372
- Jordany Santana, SP: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K - 2.70 ERA
- Aldo Silva, RP: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K - 0.00 ERA
The DSL Braves were powered to a victory behind first baseman and cleanup hitter Carlos Castro, who cranked his first home run of the year. Left fielder Kelvin Estevez reached base three times - a single and two walks - to push his OBP all the way up to .448. On the young season, Estevez has arguably been the DSL Braves' best hitter. He's showed a fantastic eye so far; in 58 PAs, he's walked 13 times and only struck out 11. Jordany Santana continued his good work on the mound with 5 innings of 3-hit ball. On the season, the young righty has whiffed 11 and walked only 2 in 13.2 innings of work, while holding opponents to a .208 BAA. Aldo Silva picked up the win in long relief, and still hasn't been scored upon in 9.2 innings out of the pen this year. During that span, Silva has posted an 11/3 K/BB ratio and allowed only two hits.
