Braves Starters in June (and a couple in May)

I'm sure everyone is aware that over the last 5 starts (1 trip through the rotation), no starter has given up more than 1 run, leading to the rotation posting a 0.77 ERA. But this run of success really goes back further, all the way to May 30 (the day after Medlen's short start). In that stretch (11 starts, everyone pitching twice except Minor, who had 3 starts), there have been 10 quality starts, and the one that wasn't was Minor's no-decision on June 4th, where he gave up 4 runs (2 earned) in 6 innings.

The game logs:

  • 5/30 - Minor - Win, 11-3 - 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K (60 Score)
  • 5/31 - Tehran - Loss, 3-2 - 6 2/3 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 9 K (56 Score)
  • 6/1 - Hudson - ND, (W, 2-1 in 10) - 7 1/3 IP, 3 H, R, 0 ER, BB, 4 K (73 Score)
  • 6/2 - Maholm - Win, 6-3 - 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K (56 Score)
  • 6/3 - Medlen - Win, 7-2 - 7 IP, 7 H, R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K (67 Score)
  • 6/4 - Minor - ND, (W, 5-4 in 10) - 6 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K (58 Score)
  • 6/5 - Tehran - Win, 5-0 - 8 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 11 K (89 Score)
  • 6/6 - Hudson - Loss, 5-0 - 7 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 5 K (70 Score)
  • 6/7 - Maholm - ND, (L, 2-1 in 10) - 7 1/3 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 2 BB, 3 K (67 Score)
  • 6/8 - Medlen - Win, 2-1 - 6 2/3 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 6 K (69 Score)
  • 6/9 - Minor - Win, 8-1 - 6 IP, 6 H, R, ER, 3 BB, 6 K (59 Score)

So overall the starting rotation has put up and impressive line: 6-2 record (Team went 8-3) and stats: 75 IP 52 H 18 R 12 ER 10 BB 65 K 1.44 ERA 2.16 RA 0.83 WHIP (Average Game Score: 66) They've allowed a low .196 BA, .235 OBP, and .321 SLG for a .556 OPS, and their FIP is 2.91

The bullpen has been no slouch either: in 25 1/3 IP, they've allowed just 6 runs (5 earned) for a 2.13 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 3.24 FIP, .196 BA, .237 OBP, .293 SLG, and .531 OPS).

Surprisingly, over this stretch Minor has arguably been the team's worst pitcher:

Pitcher IP/H/R/ER/BB/K/ERA/RA/WHIP/FIP/BA/OBP/SLG/OPS/Avg Game Score

Minor 19/16/8/5/3/17/2.37/3.79/1.00/4.62/.222/.253/.458/.712/59

Tehran 14.2/8/3/3/3/20/1.84/1.84/0.75/1.09/.167/.236/.271/.507/73

Hudson 14.1/7/2/1/1/9/0.63/1.26/0.56/2.15/.146/.163/.167/.330/71

Maholm 13.1/9/4/3/2/7/2.03/2.70/0.83/4.55/.200/.250/.356/.606/61

Medlen 13.2/12/1/0/1/12/0.00/0.66/0.95/1.66/.231/.259/.288/.548/68

If these pitchers can continue to perform anywhere close to how they've been doing recently, the starting pitching will not be a problem.
