Elander Homers Twice, Salcedo Extends Hitting Streak, And Wood Continues Dominance In Saturday's Atlanta Braves Minor League Action

Josh Elander slugged a pair of homers, Edward Salcedo extended his hitting streak to 10 games, Joey Terdoslavich had another big day, and Alex Wood continued his dominance.

Mark Lamm picked up his fifth save and he hasn't allowing an run in 13 innings over his last 8 appearances. Edward Salcedo rapped out a pair of doubles to extend his hitting streak to 10 games, and he's hit .405 with a 1.261 OPS, 3 doubles, 4 homers, 6 RBI, and 2 steals in that stretch. Jose Martinez had a 3 hit night, and in his last 10 games he's hitting .424 with a 1.331 OPS, 4 doubles, 3 homers, and 7 RBI. Myke Jones also had a 3 hit day, snapping a 1-12 skid over his last 4 games. Tommy La Stella has gone 3-7 with a double, a RBI, and 2 walks in his last 2 games.

Jarrett Miller pitched well, allowing 2 earned runs over 7 innings, but took the loss as the Hillcats hitters were only able to collect 2 hits on the night. Miller has had so-so results as a starter, posting a 4.50 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP in 36 innings over 7 starts. Robby Hefflinger had 1 of the Hillcats 2 hits today, but he's struggled recently, going 4-19 with a homer, 2 RBI, and a walk in his last 6 games.

AJ Holland will start the series finale on Sunday for the Hillcats against Robbie Ray for the P-Nats.
