Jose Constanza went 0-4 tonight, ending a 18 game hitting streak that saw him go 27-71 with a double, 3 triples, 12 runs scored, and 3 RBI.Ernesto Mejia had a 3 hit day, and he's gone 5-9 with 3 RBI in his last 3 games, though he's been struggling in May, hitting .215 with a .737 OPS in 65 at bats after hitting .276 with a 1.002 OPS in 87 April at bats. Todd Cunningham has gone 4-7 with a double, 2 triples, a RBI, a walk, and a steal in his last 2 games, after going 3-16 in his previous 7 games. Cody Martin picked up his second win with an excellent start, striking out 7 while allowing just 1 earned run over 6 innings of work. In 7 starts this season, the 23 year old righty has a 2.06 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, and 9.3 K/9 in 35 innings. Phil Gosselin has gone 6-18 with 3 RBI in his last 4 games. Jose Martinez had a pair of hits to extend his hitting streak to 8 games, and he's gone 11-27 with 3 doubles, 3 homers, 4 RBI, and 3 walks during that stretch. Dan Brewer has gone 4-9 with a double and a triple in his last 3 games. Barrett Kleinknecht had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI tonight after going 1-17 in his last 7 games. Greg Ross had the rare feat of allowing 4 runs but lowering his ERA, as all 4 runs were unearned, coming in the 4th inning after a Kyle Kubitza throwing error. Despite making his 10th error in his 38th game at the hot corner, Kubitza has been hitting well of late, batting .300 with a .950 OPS in his last 10 games. A 1-3 day actually lowered Shawn McGill's batting average from .412 down to .400, but he's still excelled in every chance he's been given, hitting .392 with a .926 OPS in 51 at bats between Lynchburg and Mississippi.

The Hillcats begin a 3 game series against Potomac on Friday, with Navery Moore scheduled to start the opener for Lynchburg against Taylor Hill for the P-Nats.

Since allowing a 12.79 ERA and a 2.73 WHIP in 19 innings early last season with Rome, the 21 year old Dominican lefty has combined to post a 1.71 ERA, a 0.97 WHIP, 5.3 H/9, 3.4 BB/9, and 14.2 K/9 in 52.2 innings (30.2 innings last season with Danville and 22 innings this season with Rome).
