The M-Braves offense exploded tonight lead by Braeden Schlehuber's two home runs in consecutive innings. Alex Wood gave up three earned runs, which is just one less than he has allowed all season. Edward Salcedo also hit his fourth long ball of the season and second in the last five games. After posting a .684 OPS in April he has put up an .888 mark in May this far.
Carolina Mudcats 6, Lynchburg Hillcats 2

The Hillcats were shut out for the first eight innings of this one before touching up Ryan Woolley for two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Journeyman catcher Shawn McGill picked up two more hits tonight and is hitting .436 between Mississippi and Lynchburg. He split time between three levels with the Braves last season and hit .178/.234/.277. He has just 40 at bats so far, but they have been pretty good ones.
