Tommy La Stella didn't miss a beat after a promotion to AA. - CB Wilkins

Who was hot and who was not for the week of May 6th to 12th.

Tommy La Stella flourished after a promotion, Alex Wood and Joey Terdoslavich continued to dominate, Elmer Reyes had a bunch of multi-hit games, and a pair of utility players had huge weeks.

Who's Hot?

Tommy La Stella 2B, Mississippi Braves - 10-27, 3 2B, 3B, HR, 6 RBI, 2 BB - La Stella missed most of April recovering from a leg injury, but the 24 year old was on fire when he came back, hitting .550 with a 1.440 OPS in 7 games with the Hillcats last week before being promoted to Mississippi this week where he hit .370 with a 1.080 OPS, giving him a .447 average, a 1.254 OPS, 4 doubles, a triple, 2 homers, and 10 RBI in 13 games this season.

Alex Wood LHP, Mississippi Braves - 1-0, 7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K - Wood only made one start this week, but it continued the trend the 22 year old has set this season, striking out 5 over 7 shutout innings. He's only allowed 2 earned runs in 7 starts this year, posting a 0.47 ERA, a 0.89 WHIP, 5.9 H/9, 2.1 BB/9, and 10.2 K/9 in 38 innings.

Elmer Reyes SS, Lynchburg Hillcats - 9-20, 3 2B, HR, 6 RBI, BB, SB - Reyes had a few weak years with Rome the last couple of seasons, but the 22 year old has gotten off to a nice start this year with Lynchburg, hitting .309 with a .761 OPS, 10 doubles, and 21 RBI in 110 at bats. He turned things up a notch this week, hitting .450 with a 1.076 OPS, ending the week with 3 straight multi-hit games.

Joey Terdoslavich RF, Gwinnett Braves - 9-28, 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, BB - Terdoslavich had a fine week, hitting .321 with a .916 OPS, and he's been consistently good all year, leading the International League with 14 doubles, and his 87 total bases are good for second in the league.

Alden Carrithers and Emerson Landoni UTL, Mississippi Braves and Lynchburg Hillcats - 16-31, 3 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 5 BB, SB - Both of these players have been discarded by various teams, Carrithers by the Tigers and White Sox, Landoni by the Yankees and Marlins, both are considered roster fillers, kept only for their ability to play multiple positions, and both have been promoted and demoted this season already, but they made some noise this week, combining to hit .516 with a 1.293 OPS. The 28 year old lefty hitting Carrithers has worked his way into regular playing time for Gwinnett, hitting .500 with a 1.272 OPS this week. The 24 year old Landoni hit .348 with a .922 OPS in 23 at bats for Mississippi before being sent down to Lynchburg this week where he hit .500 with a 1.202 OPS.

Jarrett Miller RHP, Lynchburg Hillcats - 1 GS, 1 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 1 K - Miller only made 1 start this week, but it was an awful one, as he allowed 4 earned runs while only being able to complete 1 inning of work. James Hoyt RHP, Lynchburg Hillcats - 2 G, 1 GS, 4.1 IP, 7 ER, 6 H, 5 BB, 5 K - The Braves signed the 27 year old Hoty out of the independent league prior to this season, and he got off to a great start with the organization, posting a 1.78 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP in 25.1 innings over his first 8 appearances. Things took a rough turn this week, as he allowed 7 earned runs in just 3.1 innings in his start on Thursday.
