Gwinnett Braves 2, Indianapolis Indians 9
- Todd Cunningham CF - 3-3 .253 Avg
- Jordan Parraz LF - 1-4 2B(2), 2K, .276 Avg
- Joe Leonard 3B - 1-4 3B(1), RBI(8), K, .194 Avg
- Dusty Hughes 1.1 IP 1H 0R 0BB 2K 6.52 ERA
Daniel Rodriguez pitched just three innings and gave up seven runs. His 14.2 scoreless inning streak came to an end quickly in the first and it didn't get much better from there. He walked six batters, gave up a bases loaded triple, and allowed a run to score on a squeeze play. Suffice to say it wasn't a great night for him. The offense was up against the reanimated arm of Francisco Liriano, who appears to be pitching well this season. The Braves mustered just four hits off of him in six innings along with nine strike outs. Each of the three relievers the Indians brought in struck out two as well leaving the strike out total at 15 for the Braves.
Mississippi - Off
Matt Lee will take the mound for Mississippi in a home game vs. the Tennessee Smokies.
Winston-Salem Dash 6, Lynchburg Hillcats 8
- Tommy La Stella DH - 2-2 HR(1), 2 RBI(2), 2 BB, .500 Avg
- Robby Hefflinger LF - 2-4 2 RBI(20), BB, K, SB(1), .326 Avg
- David Rohm RF - 2-5, 2B(11), .358 Avg
- Luis De La Cruz C - 2-4 2B(2), .205 Avg
In his second game of the season Tommy La Stella wasted no time putting the Hillcats ahead, hitting a two-run homer in the first inning. He sparked the offense all night long reaching base all four time he came to the plate. In two games he has reach base in six out of eight plate appearances leaving his two game OPS at 2.028. That probably won't last. The rest of the Hillcats offense did their thing as well and helped move the team into first place in the Northern Division.
Rome - Off
Patrick Scoggin will face off against the Greenville Drive at home tomorrow at 7:00 PM
