Kris Medlen vs. Cliff Lee
The weather looks ugly again tonight with rain starting around 5 p.m. local time and ceasing some time after 9 p.m. Let's hope it can get played with no delays.
The Braves will try to continue their impressive streak of winning Kris Medlen's starts. The streak currently stands at 23 regular season starts, but Medlen has allowed 14 runs in 23.2 innings against the Phillies and hasn't started a game against them since 2010.
Lee, on the other hand, allowed just one earned run in 15 innings to the Braves in 2012 while striking out 16. In his 10 starts against the Braves covering 64.1 innings, Lee has struck out 70 hitters as opposed to issuing only five walks (14.0 K/BB ratio).
Of current Braves, B.J. Upton has faced Lee the most with 25 plate appearances and is hitting .292 (7-24). No one on the Phillies roster has more than nine plate appearances against Medlen; Ryan Howard has two homers in seven at-bats against him.
