Major League Baseball has released the 2013 All-Star ballot... and... there's no Oso Blanco. Yes, they list Brian McCann as the Braves catcher option, and he has yet to play a baseball game this year -- Major League or minor league. In this age of the internet, can't they update the guy to vote for so it's actually the guy who has caught the most games.
I suppose the Braves are the ones who send in the names to be listed, and MLB probably mandates that the names be into them way too early in the season. So naturally someone like Evan Gattis who wasn't supposed to have a starting role didn't make the ballot.
This leads to the larger issue of "why are we voting for the All-Star game in April anyway?" We've been playing real baseball for three weeks, and we're supposed to vote for players who are doing good? Really, no. The whole idea is that you vote for your "favorites," regardless of how they're playing. Which again begs the question of why isn't every player available to vote for?
Their response is probably that you can write whomever you want in on the ballot. So in that case, let's vote for our favorite White Bear...
Hash tag it on the tweeter and write in Evan Gattis on the ballot (the write-in section is at the bottom of the ballot). #VoteForOso
