The offseason has been slow throughout the Christmas season, but will pick up again after the New Year's break for most offices. Wren's said that he will look into bullpen depth, but that it isn't a priority (which isn't a real surprise). Many have hoped for the "Veteran presence" to be added this offseason to a young bullpen. Many others have characterized resigning Eric O'Flaherty as the priority to the bullpen this offseason.
Many relievers have been signed to unusually large contracts this season, including LaTroy Hawkins ($2.5M with Colorado), Boone Logan ($16.5M/3 years with Colorado), Scott Downs ($4M with the White Sox), and Chris Perez (up to $8M with Los Angeles). Could the Braves tap into that? They've spent arguably a total of $9M in Gavin Floyd, Jonny Venters, Brandon Beachy, Jordan Walden, and Ryan Doumit, which is near the debated total of $10-15M.
