In the first offseason move for the club, the Braves announced today that Brian Snitker has been named the new manager of Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate Gwinnett Braves. Roving outfield and baserunning instructor Doug Dascenzo was named to take his place as third base coach.
Dascenzo has been in his roving instructor position since 2011, while Snitker has been with the organization in various capacities since 1977. He's coached at A, AA, and AAA, and won a few minor league championships and Coach of the Year awards. A lot of people on my twitter timeline see this as a demotion for him. Thoughts?
