... a painting. Well, that was anticlimactic. The painting is by renowned 3d pop artist Charles Fazzino, so there's that. And the Mets presented Chipper with the painting underneath the stadium well before the game, fearing, as Joe Simpson said, that Larry would be booed on the field. So what! Chipper's been booed in New York for over a decade.
That is a weak gift, in my opinion. They missed a great opportunity to really give Chipper something unique in a unique way. Oh well, they are the enemy, so we shouldn't expect too much out of them.
