Atlanta's offense again struggled with runners in scoring positon, going 0-11 after an 0-7 performance last night, but one run was enough to support Mike Minor.
Minor held Colorado hitless until Jordan Pacheco singled to begin the seventh inning. That was the only hit he allowed as he finished with a line of 7 IP, 1 H, 4 BB, 7 K.
The left-hander recorded ten swing and misses, including six on his fastball. The walks certainly weren't great, but everything else was. He recorded eight groundouts compared to only three fly balls, and threw 63 pitches for strikes out of 108 pitches.
A throwing error on a Brian McCann grounder allowed Chipper to come in from second to score, giving Atlanta a 1-0 lead.
Minor got into a jam in the seventh, with runners on first and second with two outs. He struck out DJ LeMahieu looking to escape it.
Eric O' Flaherty allowed a walk and a single in the eighth and left with two outs in the inning. Fredi Gonzalez made a great move by inserting Craig Kimbrel at this point, and he recorded a strikeout to escape this jam.
He pitched a scoreless ninth to record his 33rd save of the year.
