The Marlins struck first against Tommy Hanson in the top of the third inning. Bryan Petersen doubled to start the frame, and advanced on a ground ball two batters later. Carlos Lee doubled to left field to bring in Petersen and make it a 1-0 game.
They added another run in the fourth inning. Scott Cousins singled to left, and moved up to second on an errant pickoff attempt. Gil Velazquez doubled to left, plating Cousins and upping Miami's advantage to 2-0.
Atlanta got on the board in a big way in the bottom of the fourth inning, plating four runs. Freddie Freeman singled with one out, and advanced to second on a wild pitch from Marlins starter Jacob Turner. Uggla followed with a double, scoring Freeman and cutting the deficit to 2-1.
A David Ross bunt single put runners on first and third for Andrelton Simmons, who doubled as well to tie things up at two. Martin Prado reached on a fielding error in left by Petersen that allowed Ross and Simmons to score and make it a 4-2 game.
Hanson left after 5.1 innings, allowing six hits and two runs (one earned), while walking two and striking out four.
In the seventh, Wade LeBlanc allowed a double to Prado and walks to Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman to load the bases. Ryan Webb entered in relief, and allowed a single to Uggla that scored Prado and Heyward, ending the scoring at 6-2.
