Moran Strikes Out 10, Terdoslavich Hits 2 Doubles, And Espinosa Tosses A Solid 6 In Monday's Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap

Gary Moran struck out 10 in 6 innings for Mississippi tonight.

Randall Delgado and Peter Moylan had rough nights for Gwinnett, Gary Moran struck out 10 while Joey Terdoslavich rapped out a pair of doubles for Mississippi, Abraham Espinosa had a nice start in the GCL, and rain washed out games for Rome and Danville.

Peter Moylan had a rough appearance, allowing 2 earned runs while only recording 2 outs. Ryan Bucther picked up his fourth save, and the 25 year old lefty is having an outstanding season, with a 1.34 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP and 10.9 K/9 in 40.1 innings over 34 appearances. Joey Terdoslavich cracked out a pair of doubles, and in his last 10 games, he's hitting .367 with a 1.061 OPS, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers, and 10 RBI.

The Hillcats begin a series in Frederick on Tuesday, with Aaron Northcraft scheduled to start the opener.

Rome Braves - Postponed, Rain

Rain postponed Rome's game against Kannapolis, though no makeup date has been announced. Rome is off on Tuesday, before beginning a home series against the Augusta Green Jackets on Wednesday, with Fabian Williamson scheduled to start the opener.

Danville Braves - Postponed, Rain

Danville was supposed to play a doublheader in Elizabethton to make up for yesterday's rainout, but rain forced its cancellation. It hasn't been announced when, or if, the games will be made up.

Chase Larsson continued his rehab with the GCL team, going 2-4 today to make him 4-12 with 5 walks and 2 steals in 5 rehab games overall. Connor Lien had a RBI single and a walk today, making him 7-24 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI, and 3 steals in his last 6 games. In 113 at bats this season, Mike Dodig is hitting .177 with a .511 OPS 4 doubles, a triple, 2 homers, and 9 RBI, but in 37 at bats in his last 10 games, he's hitting .297 with a .893 OPS, 2 doubles, a triple, 2 homers, and 7 RBI. Abraham Espinosa had a fine start, allowing 2 run over 6 innings. The 19 year old Panamanian righty has been on a roll since the start of July, with a 2.25 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP in 32 innings over 7 appearances, 4 starts. In 17.2 innings over 13 appearances this season, 22 year old lefty Brandon Rohde has allowed just 2 earned runs, giving him a 1.02 ERA and a 0.68 WHIP to go along with 18 strikeouts.
