Terdoslavich Hits Walkoff Single, Peraza Reaches Base 4 Times, And Pacheco Strikes Out 9 Of 11 In Monday's Atlanta Braves Minor League Action

Joey Terdoslavich's 9th inning single sealed a walkoff win for Mississippi, Miguel Batista, David Hale, and Jaden Dillon all had effective starts, Jose Peraza had a big day, and Ronan Pacheco was a strikeout machine.

Miguel Batista started the game and was masterful, striking out 7 while allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings of work. The 41 year old has allowed 9 earned runs in 24 innings with Gwinnett, and 6 of those runs came in one 3 inning appearance. Felix Pie had a hot July, hitting .320 with a .931 OPS, 9 doubles, 4 homers, and 23 RBI in 97 at bats, but he's cooled off in August, hitting .220 with a .628 OPS, 4 doubles, and 6 RBI. Joey Terdoslavich singled in Jason Christian in the bottom of the 9th to give Mississippi a walkoff win. Terdo reached base 3 times in the game and extended his hitting streak to 6 games, going 9-24 with a double, a homer, 5 RBI, and 3 walks in that span. Todd Cunningham also reached base 3 times, adding a pair of steals to give him an even 20 for the season. He has his own modest 4 game hitting streak, going 5-20 with a walk in that stretch. The 21 year old lefty had only allowed 6 earned runs, 25 hits, and 9 walks in 39 innings in his first 10 starts. Ronan Pacheco was absolutely phenomenal in relief, stranding 2 inherited runners and striking out 9 of the 11 batters he faced. The 23 year old lefty, who stands at a lean and lanky 6'6", has done well in his return to Rome, posting a 2.43 ERA, a 1.21 ERA, and 29 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. In 6.1 innings over his last 3 appearances, he's struck out 14 while allowing 2 hits and 4 walks. William Beckwith extended his hitting streak to 4 games, and he's gone 6-15 with 3 doubles, 5 RBI, and 2 walks in that span. In his last 10 games, Kyle Kubitza is hitting .351 with a .959 OPS, 5 doubles, a triple, and 6 RBI.

Rome has a 4 1/2 game lead over Asheville with 14 games left in their season. They will face the Crawdads again on Tuesday.

Eric Garcia has a 4 game hitting streak, going 6-16 with a homer and 4 RBI during that stretch. In his last 2 games, 18 year old Panamanian Carlos Sanchez has gone 2-7 with a double and 3 RBI.
