Juan Jaime has excelled as Lynchburg's closer this season.

Gwinnett picked up the win in the first game tonight, the completion of the game suspended by rain on June 26th. Julio Teheran pitched 2 scoreless innings that day before rain caused the postponement, and Eric Junge took over tonight, picking up the win by pitching the final 7 innings, working a little bit of magic to only allow 3 earned runs despite allowing 13 baserunners. In his last two appearances, Junge has allowed 4 earned runs in 14 innings, striking out 10 and walking 3. Ernesto Mejia combined to go 3-8 in the 2 games, hitting his 17th homer of the season. He extended his hitting streak to 6 games, going 8-24 with a double, 2 homers, and 5 RBI in that stretch. Luis Durango extended his own hitting streak to 5 games, and he's gone 7-20 with 2 walks in those games. Jose Yepez has gone 8-21 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 2 walks during his 6 game hitting streak. Jose Constanza had a pair of hits in the first game to extend his hitting streak to 10 games, and during that span he's hit .400 with a .860 OPS, 9 runs scored, a double, 2 RBI, and 3 walks.

Inconsistency had plagued Hale throughout his career, and it remains and issue despite his electric arm. In his last 4 games, Todd Cunningham has gone 5-12 with a double, and 3 RBI. In his last 3 games, Phil Gosselin has gone 4-11.

Since the All-Star break he's hitting .296 with a .811 OPS in 8 games. Chris Garcia also had 3 hits, and added on 3 RBI, making him 4-8 with 4 RBI in his last 2 games. Gerardo Reyes had a pair of singles, a RBI, and a steal, snapping a 1-13 skid over his last 3 games. Treton Moses had had a hit in 7 of his last 8 games, but he's hitting just .200 with a .522 OPS in that span. Connor Lien didn't get a hit today, but he also didn't record an official at bat, walking 3 times and getting hit by a pitch for a perfect day at the plate. The 18 year old, who went to high school a few miles from the GCL Braves complex in Orlando, has now reached in 5 consecutive plate appearances, and in his last 6 games he's gone 3-7 with 8 walks. Jose Peraza drove in a pair of runs, and in his last 10 games he's hitting .349 with a .866 OPS, 11 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 5 RBI, and 7 steals.
