I know that I am looking ahead, but I do this every year when we have a shot of reaching the World Series... because I HATE the fact that the stupid AL has a huge advantage in games where the DH is used.
Face it, your typical NL team does not just have a super powerful hitter wasting away on the bench that they can insert as the DH in the series. Alternatively, the AL teams can always find a way to get their big boppers on the field somewhere so as to not miss out on having their bat in the line up.
Are the Braves prepared for 3 or 4 huge games with JUAN FRANCISCO (gag!) as the DH? Or would it be Hinske against lefties and Diaz against righties? Matty D certainly has the splits to face lefties... and Hinske is a professional hitter... but are they equivalent to Hamilton, Ortiz, Swisher, etc.?
This is why I am always in favor of picking up a big bat at the trade deadline. But who?
