The M-Braves swept their series against the Bay Bears, but the finale wasn't without some fireworks, as there were 7 batters hit by pitches and 5 ejections, including pitcher Cory Rasmus, who was immediately tossed after hitting a batter, and catcher Christian Bethancourt and left fielder Alden Carrithers, who were tossed following a benches clearing altercation that occurred after Mobile's catcher, Rossmel Perez, attempted to bowl over M-Braves pitcher Mike Tarsi, who was covering the plate. Before his ejection, Bethancourt had a great day at the plate, rapping out 3 hits, including his second homer of the year, and driving in 3 runs. In his last 9 games, the 20 year old has gone 12-38 with 2 homers, 9 RBI, 1 walk, and 2 steals. Todd Cunningham continued his hot streak, rapping out a pair of singles. In 14.1 innings between the GCL and Danville, he has a 3.14 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts. Carlos Franco had a pair of hits to extend his hitting streak to 6 games, going 7-22 with 1 double, 1 triple, 1 RBI, and 6 walks during that span. The 20 year old Dominican has shown an advanced approach at the plate, walking in 21% of his plate appearances, giving him a .430 OBP on the year.
