It's a rather obvious sounding, but this tweet about the Atlanta Braves desire to sign Martin Prado is making the rounds, via Buster Olney:
The Braves are going to try to sign Martin Prado to a multi-year deal, given his current standing as heir to Chipper Jones's spot at third.
— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) July 17, 2012
First off, I have little tolerance for people named Buster. Second, this is kind of a layup of a tweet. Is this just Buster's opinion, his gut feeling, or did someone in the front office say they were "actively" working to get a deal done. Is there a time frame?
Tweets like this is why twitter is half useless. Did this really need to be tweeted without an accompanying link to an article further explaining the Braves thinking, and their timetable, and, you know, details.
Otherwise this tweet is just stating the obvious. Of course the Braves are going to try and sign Martin Prado to a multi-year contract. If they have eyes, a brain, and even the most basic stats they would be doing this.
