There's not much known about what kind of pitcher or prospect Matt Kimbrel is. He pitched for Southern Polytechnic last year, and Shelton State in Alabama the year before. This was the second straight year the Braves have drafted Kimbrel, selecting him in the 32nd round last year.
Friday is the 2012 MLB Draft signing deadline. The highest pick for the Braves yet to sign is 11th rounder Levi Borders, son of former Major League catcher Pat Borders. It will be interesting to see if the Braves are able to sign any of the bottom nine high school draft picks.
