Gwinnett broke their record 15 game losing streak tonight behind some walkoff heroics. Tyler Pastornicky tied the game at 5 with a 1 out RBI double in the ninth, and Felix Pie walked off with a single to score Pastornicky. Pastornicky had a great day at the plate, going 2-4 with a pair of doubles, a pair of runs, a pair of RBIs, and a walk. Jose Constanza was on base 4 times today and scored half of Gwinnett's runs on the day. Todd Redmond had a mediocre start, giving up 3 homers over 5.2 innings. He kept Gwinnett in the game though, and Buddy Carlyle picked up the win with 2 shutout innings at the end of the game.

Mississippi beat the BayBears today 4-1 behind a strong, albeit wild, pitching performance from Luis Avilan. Avilan only allowed 1 hit over 5 innings, but walked 4. He struck out 5, and has now racked up 50 punchouts in 56 innings. Mark Lamm nailed down the win with a 2-strikeout inning for his 9th save of the year. Mathew Kennelly, Mississippi's light hitting catcher, went 3 for 4 on the afternoon. Tim Smith stuffed the stat sheet, knocking out a pair of hits, scoring one, driving in one, drawing a walk, and stealing a base.
Gary Moran faces the BayBears tomorrow at 8.

Greg Ross had another subpar outing, allowing 8 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits and 2 walks across 6 innings. Robby Hefflinger had a great day at the plate however, drawing 3 walks, scoring, and stealing a base. Cory Brownsten was the only other R-Brave to reach base more than once, singling and drawing a walk. Not much else to say about this one.

Danville improved to 9-4 on the year behind a balanced offensive and defensive game. Aris Alcantara continued his torrid hitting with a 3-hit, 2-double game, driving in 3 of Danville's runs and stealing his 4th base of the year. Carlos Franco had a two-hit day as well with an RBI triple and two runs scored. Josh Elander, Atlanta's 6th round draft pick this year, had an RBI triple, walked, and scored twice. Frank Lafreniere started for Danville and allowed 3 runs (but only one earned) in 4.2 innings of work. Carlos Perez threw 2.1 innings of scoreless ball to pick up the win.
Danville takes on Burlington again tomorrow, probables TBA.
