How I would redo the schedule

First the Astros move to the AL which will happen in a couple years.

Second. You would play eight 3 games series' against your division teams totaling 96 games. The MLB season is 6 months long from April through September. You would play 3 in April, 4 in May, 5 in June, 5 in July, 7 in August, and 8 in September.

Third. Each team would play the other 10 teams in their league in two 3 games series' totaling 60 games. This games would be toward the beginning of the season and would be more limited towards the end. Each series would be a home and home.

Fourth. Each team would have one designated opposite league team that they would play a home and home with during the season. These two series would come just before the All-Star break and just after.

Here are the team match-ups.

Yankees vs. Mets

Rays vs. Marlins

Orioles vs. Nationals

Blue Jays vs. Phillies

Red Sox vs. Braves

White Sox vs. Cubs

Indians vs. Reds

Tigers vs Pirates

Royals vs. Cardinals

Twins vs. Brewers

Rangers vs. Diamondbacks

Angels vs. Dodgers

A's vs. Giants

Mariners vs. Padres

Astros vs. Rockies

This schedule would put more importance on playing well at the end of the season.
