At Least The Braves Aren't Socially Awkward

Stay connected for news and updates

The Atlanta Braves may currently be winning deficient, but when it comes to social media, they're right there with the big boys. The Wall Street Journal recently had an article in which they revealed the top teams and players in the social media sphere, the Braves are represented in both.

As a team they rank eighth in total social media presence, which encompasses Facebook "Likes" and Twitter followers. Among the list of "Most Valuable Tweeters," Braves outfielder Jason Heyward makes this list as the MLB player with the 10th-most Twitter followers.

It's good to see the team well represented among teams that use social media successfully, and it doesn't surprise me that the Braves have a ton of online fans. The years of the Braves on TBS created a large diaspora of fans who now use social media and online outlets to keep up with their favorite team. (For the inquiring TC reader, Talking Chop generally ranks in the top three among all SB Nation baseball blogs.)
