If you haven't heard already, Jason Heyward will be sitting out of tonight's game with some soreness in his right oblique. This team clearly has an issue with this all-important muscle. All indications are that the soreness isn't serious. Heyward claims that there isn't a knot, it isn't tight, and he can't pinpoint any particular point at which the injury specifically occurred. Eric Hinske will be getting the start in right today.
James McDonald has been absolutely dealing recently, striking out a lot of batters and pitching effectively. In his last start, he took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. The only hit he gave up in his seven complete innings was an infield single to Troy Tulowitzki. The Pirates still managed to lose the game, though.
