Jurrjens frustrated by lack of consistency | braves.com: News
"One inning I had it and one inning I didn't," Jurrjens said. "I'm not consistent, and I'm getting a little frustrated right now. The ball is coming out good. I'm just not getting the results I want."

Braves postgame quotes following Wednesday’s win vs. Mets | Atlanta Braves
Freddie Freeman, on Walker and Fletcher’s efforts taking hold: "They want us to battle. They want us to be smart hitters. Smart hitters sometimes swing at the first pitch, sometimes they have to battle. We were able to chase their No. 1 and 2 in the first four innings, two yesterday and today we got Dickey out in the fifth. We were able to get to their bullpen again after they were tired from yesterday. It’s huge. That’s what they preach. Be smart hitters and sometimes it’s early in the count and sometimes we’ve got to work the count like we did today."

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves - April 18, 2012 | MLB.com ATL Recap
"They just went out and beat us in every part of the game," Mets third baseman David Wright said. "There was nothing that we did today better than them. They capitalized on our mistakes, they pitched a little better than we did and they hit a lot better than we did."

Chipper rests with hopes of staying healthy | braves.com: News
"I'm obviously still concerned about the knee blowing up and still hurting," Jones said. "But the leg soreness and all of that, that's normal. I played two games and took a day or two off. Now I just played three straight, and I get today off. So hopefully today's day off will give me some relief tomorrow."

Chipper, Bo wax poetic on Moyer | braves.com: News
Bo Jackson compiled each of his 15 career at-bats against Jamie Moyer before the Braves won the 1995 World Series. Yet as the legendary athlete sat at Turner Field on Wednesday afternoon, he found himself marveling at the fact that Moyer created history on Tuesday, when he became the oldest pitcher in Major League history to record a win. "I would retire this morning," Jackson said. "I would announce my retirement. I'm through. Finish on top. Get out while you're on top. But I think it speaks to be 49 years old, my age, to go out there and compete with these 22- and 23-year-olds and get a win. I think it's good. My hat is off to him. It gives us old guys hope."

Kimbrel has some fun with Auburn great Bo Jackson | Atlanta Braves
Braves closer Craig Kimbrel couldn’t resist telling Bo Jackson he was an Alabama fan before going out to catch Wednesday’s ceremonial first pitch from the former Heisman trophy winner from Auburn. "I said, ‘Don’t throw it in the dirt just because I’m an Alabama fan,’" said Kimbrel, a native of Huntsville, Ala. "He kind of laughed at me. He said, ‘I’m going to throw something, but I’m not going to tell you what it is.’ It was cool just to be able to do that."

Bo knows how to make charity pitch | braves.com: News
"Alabama is my home state," Jackson said. "Nobody expected that tornado to be that big and that devastating. I have the clout to make the rest of the country aware of how devastating these tornados are. ... It just happened to happen in my state. Whatever I can do to raise attention to that and raise funds to benefit those people that were devastated by it, then that's my role. That's my job as a fellow Alabaman."

Hudson throws five strong innings in Gwinnett rehab | Atlanta Braves
Tim Hudson set out to work on his sharpness Wednesday night in Triple-A Gwinnett, and improve his results along the way. He accomplished both, allowing only one unearned run in five innings against the Norfolk Tides in the third start of four he’s expected to make on a minor league rehabilitation assignment.
