"We need to get him in there a little more and get him that life on that fastball, that two-seamer," Fredi Gonzalez said [of Chard Durbin].
So, Fredi's solution to solving the problems of a pitcher that literally gives up a home run every appearance, has an 18ERA, and who admits that his sinker isn't sinking and cutter isn't cutting is to...pitch him more...in games?! Holy crap. Maybe have Durbin try to work that garbage out in AAA or, hell, even A. The regular season of MLB is not the place to "get him in there a little more and get him that life." He sucks. He can't get people out. Logically taking a leap from 'that dude is really bad right now' to 'so we need to pitch him more' blows my mind. A 5 game win streak with pitchers going deep into games and hitters producing runs can help hide some of Fredi's "thoughts," but Fredi talking sure can't hide that.
