Nationals seeking to trade John Lannan after signing Edwin Jackson
The signing of Jackson gives the gNats a potential rotation with him, Gonzalez, Zimmermann, Strasburg and Wang/Detwiler. I know the Braves aren't interested, but Lannan has been a thorn to the Braves the last couple of years and it would be a relief to see him anywhere except in the NL.

I did want to see Jackson in the NL east at all.
I wouldn’t be surprised to be fighting for 2nd place in Aug behind the very much improved Nats. I just have a bad feeling about this season and the NL east. That is why I’m not as optimistic as I was last year. I mean, what if the Marlins live up to their hype and dont try to beat each other up and play good ball instead? The only team that looks bad is the Mets. Everyone else is as good as the Braves or almost as good. Shaping up to be a tough year beyond the ordinary

I’m not really afraid of Gio or Jackson.
If we can land [Stephen Drew], I will give FW a bj.

yes, yes and yes.
Braves.
Falcons.
Gamecocks.
I also wouldn’t be overly surprised if the Phillies finished second or third in the division. A couple injuries for them could be brutal.

Particularly to one or more of their big 3 arms
and to Utley with Howard on the shelf.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say Heyward will outproduce Howard this year. i think Howard’s best days are over.
Braves.
Falcons.
Gamecocks.
And I think at least one, if not two of the three
between Lee, Halladay, and Hamels misses a large chunk of time. With Lee’s back issues in the past, he seems the most likely candidate.

I don’t know how long Halladay can continue going 250+ IP per year either. At some point he’s gotta slow down……right? Right?
If we can land [Stephen Drew], I will give FW a bj.

Technically
Lannan still has two minor league options available. But even if he’s sent down to be a $5M AAA pitcher, it doesn’t change the fact that Ross Detweiler is out of options and needs to be on the ML roster, or traded as well.

really?
I feel like Lannan has been pitching forever for them.
I don't know about you
but I’m sure glad that the Braves probably won’t face Lannan as much (if at all) now, even if Edwin Jackson is a better overall pitcher.
we destroy righties don't we? bring him on.
Braves.
Falcons.
Gamecocks.
If Harper makes the team out of spring training their lineup would quite good too..
C Ramos
1b LaRoche
2b Espinosa
SS Desmond
3b Zimm
OF Werth
OF Harper
OF Morse
The Nats beat up on the Braves even when they don’t have a good team.. it’ll be scary to think what will happen with a good roster.
disagree. We beat good teams. Trouble with crappy teams.
Braves.
Falcons.
Gamecocks.
Depends on Werth bouncing back and Morse repeating a career year.

Wait until Rendon is ready to play 2B and Espinosa moves to short.
I could see Desmond going to LF and Morse going to 1B. That would potentially be an awesome lineup behind their pitching staff.
I'll take the walks of Gio and Jackson's inconsistency
over Cy Lannan any day

Lannon was tough on the Braves...
tougher than he was on most other teams… so good riddens, send him to the Redsox or Orioles lol

No Livan and hopefully no Lannan in the NL East this season
The Braves and Nats have quite a lot in common coming into this season. Young rotation with a couple of injury concerns. Impact 3rd basemen who can’t seem to play a full year. Right-fielder’s trying to come back from disappointing seasons. I expect LaRoche and Freeman to have similar years, assuming LaRoche is healthy. Inconsistent 2nd basemen. Very good catching core. Managers who have wet dreams about bunts.
