Top of the seventh (Cards 6, Braves 2):

Medlen still on the mound at 83 pitches. Freese works a full count and grounds out to Uggla, who bobbles the ball, and then throws wide of first for an error. Freese goes to second on the error and is pinch run for by Adron Chambers. Descalso bunts back to the pitcher and Medlen's only play is the sure out at first.

Fredi Gonzalez comes to get Medlen, who pitches well, but was the victim of two errors, including the costly error by Chipper in the fourth. The fans give Meds a standing ovation as he exits. Chad Durbin comes on in relief.

Kozma grounds out to Simmons with the infield in, and after bobbling the ball, he too throws wildly to home for an error. The run scores and Kozma advances to second. Gonzalez goes back to the bullpen for Jonny Venters.

Left-hander Matt Carpenter is the pinch hitter for the Cardinals. He grounds weekly between the pitcher and first baseman, Venters fields the ball and misses the tag. Meanwhile Kozma scores from second. Jay mercifully grounds into a 6-3 double play, but the damage is done with two more unearned runs.
