Today, with a pinch hit single and a run scored, and yet another W in the You Are A Winner Column, the great Larry Wayne Chipper Jones has successfully wrapped up his 19th and final season of a historically magnificent and altogether awesome career in Major League Baseball.
He's walking away, head held high, after a triumphant season long victory lap, receiving more standing ovations, hugs from teammates, and pregame tributes than anyone in recent memory.
So, before we all get caught up in the Braves' deep playoff run unobstructed march through the Playoffs and World Series, culminating in a long-awaited additional World Championship, it seems like an opportune moment to post this Open Thread as a good place to say Congrats! or Thanks! otherwise offer up some of Love and Admiration, share some fond memories of all the good times, or perhaps just post a stupid fruit basket photo.
You decide.
We're going to miss you, you old Battle Axe.
