Braves2012alt-421x450

This site apparently has it for sale already and is the source of the "leakage."

It was mentioned to DOB and he said "if this is it, I like it."

looks nice but I keep on feeling like something is missing (it’s the tomahawk, of course)

I feel the tomahwak is too ummm obtrusive.

by BravesFan on Jan 16, 2012 3:59 PM EST up reply actions

Not really. I think they go great together. It’s a nice look with or without the tomahawk.

Having a red number under ‘Braves’ (on the front) is somewhat obtrusive / distracting, imo. What are we…. the Dodgers?

I personally love this jersey.

I wouldn’t mind if they made it the primary jersey, but as an alternate it’s awesome too.

Good...

but not better than the primary. Gotta have the tomahawk.

The only thing I don’t like about the tomahawk jersey is the space between the “a” and “v”. Otherwise, I do like the tomahawk on the front.

Totally

It seems to me that the unnecessary space between the letters could be corrected rather easily. But whatev.

agreed

Just not feeling it without the tomahawk.

I actually like this better than our home jerseys

The only flaw I find with this is that on the side it says “Atlanta Braves 1876.” Atlanta Braves baseball started in 1966. There’s this one post on the website that I agree with saying if the Braves wanted to properly celebrate the franchise, it should say “Braves Baseball 1876.”

I agree...they should correct the sleeve logo.

If this is the actual design, will own. I love that look.

The only question is who to get…thinking McCann, wish I hadn’t already gotten a Venters jersey as that would rock face in this style.

The should definitely make these the primary home jerseys. I’m not a fan of the current ones with the big tomahawk, big space between the “a” and “v” and the double piping. These alt jerseys look sharp.

Its got an old school look to it

I guess in the end those red alternate jerseys weren’t that popular. I wonder which cap they will wear with it.

My understanding is they're keeping the red and blue alternates...and just adding this one to the mix.

The Blues and Greys are our coolest jerseys, imo. Not to take anything away from the home Whites.

Screw the Reds, tho. Maybe if they wore the all-Blue caps with the Reds, that would look awesome…. but I’m not a fan of the “tomahawk A hat,” beyond fans wearing it.

If they wore these on Sundays, it would look better than the red jerseys.

I'm kind of eh

Pro: Cream color is okay with me. Seeing the logo without the tomahawk isn’t bad, either.

Con: Not a fan of numbers on front. This isn’t the Nationals, this isn’t the Dodgers. I’m part of the Herb Brooks camp of the name on the front is the only thing important, so why convolute it with identification?

Con: Not digging the crossing tomahawks. Looks too clunky, and forced. Creating and then putting a patch on the sleeve for the sake of having a sleeve patch is not good. I too don’t like the Tomahawk A Sunday hats either. Stick with tradition. In fact, I would have preferred a traditional Atlanta A on the sleeve instead of the crossed tomahawks.

I’d probably pick up a blank iteration of this though. It wouldn’t have numbers on the front, and it would probably look pretty (David) boss then.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Probably viewed as politically incorrect

But I like the indian head logo on the sleeve of the 1948 jersey. I think that would look better than the crossing tomahawks. In fact, I like the entire 1948 jersey with the black tomahawk. Sharp.

I miss the large tomahawk.
