Braves to face Gio Gonzalez until the end of time
A 5-year extension for Gonzalez, taking him through 2016, plus club options for 2017 and 2018. What this means is that he'll be a thorn in the Braves' sides for as long as 7 years, a thought that makes me shudder.

2011 Braves hitters, it'd worry me
…if they can get to taking pitches again, they’ll draw lots of free passes, which is what Gio does best. Larry Parrish Braves would make you shudder about Gio, but not if they’re back to career norms for the squad.

Ehh....I wouldn't be too sure if he'll stick
There is a possibility they trade him if they don’t become a cont.in a year or two. The Nats will really not make me,personally, worry though in all honesty, unless they get Fielder. They have always been a thorn in the Braves’ sides, with much less than Gio ala Lannon.
It’s pretty funny Braves’ hitters usually put the wood to the better pitchers in the NL East, so in my mind Gio will just be another casuality lol….
Also, ben brought up a phenominal point. If the Braves remain patient with Gio they will be able to have great success against him, kudos to pointing out that little fact. Hopefully the new HC can resurrect the bats and bring the usual patient approach we fans are used to seeing.
God, I cannot wait for the season to start, this has been one of the most boring off-seasons since I’ve been a Braves fan, which is roughly 20 years. I’m not upset by the lack of moves whatsoever, I think this team is pretty set moving forward. Bounceback years from J-Hey,Prado, a full season of a decent Dan Uggla, and a full year of Bourn should add to the lineup all this team needs.
Sometimes I wake up grumpy; other times I let her sleep.

don't worry once they get better we will beat em. it's the crappy teams we can't beat.
Braves.
Falcons.
Gamecocks.
hopefully he won’t pitch games against us like the one where Chris Capuano shut us out in a CG.

Big Deal
Werth and co. gets to face Hanson, Beachy, Delgado, Teheran, Minor, Venters, and Kimbrel for a long time too.
I know which side I’d rather be on.
I’m not concerned about the Nationals as a team at all. I am, however, concerned about how the Braves fare against a tough lefty whom they’ll have to face 4-5 times a season.

He’s really not that tough to beat.
In games when hitters averaged 4 pitches per at bat or more with him, he was putrid. I’d have to dig to find the exact numbers, but it was nearing a 5 ERA, even in Oakland’s park. If you wait on Gio to make a mistake, he generally will. It’s when you chase his stuff early that he becomes so tough to hit.

Hate this
I love Gio and Zimmermann. Add Strasburg and thats potentially one hell of a trio
