Working on my Braves Room
I have been working hard to get my Braves Room (AKA Mancave) ready for the 2012 season. I am going to use this thread to post pictures of projects I'm working on that will visually make it look better. The first thing I want to show is the Braves retired number plaques I have been working on. So far I have only finished Murphy. I have Glavine, Aaron, and Mathews almost ready to go.
Next I want to show off the Braves tomahawk A logo that I made entirely out of wood. It's almost 3 feet long!
Next are a couple of pictures of the actual room. Below the TV is my Jason Heyward Shrine. There are also autographed balls there from Greg Maddux, Brian McCann, Dale Murphy, Chipper Jones, Steve Avery, and Hank Aaron. I have 7 Heyward Autographs in all.
The second picture is what is on the wall behind my couch.
I'll add more pictures as I complete stuff.

Nice Setup
Can the troll doll next to J-Hey work some magic to help him find his swing this year?
aka Mancave....
…some of us non-men would love that room too :-)
Nice work there, you got a great place to enjoy the Braves.

not a fan of that term for some reason
just don’t like the sound of it. Like when Jim Rome used to say “Manram” for Manny Ramirez.

Speaking of not being able to stand things...
how can you stand Jim Rome (rhetorical question, not specifically directed at you Sanchez)… Is he still pimping boxing and horse racing? That’s one show I could never get into!

Audio not synched on that one..

You could sell those plaques you made
they look so good! I wish I had a room only for my Braves collectibles!
My favorite feature of the room is behind the couch on that wall with the jerseys and hats hanging above each one. Great job!

Let me know if you want one...or several
As for the jerseys, the red one and Blue one were actually work in a game. The red one belonged to Garret Anderson.

I wish I had the time...
to make a room like that. Very nicely done, and please light a candle for me on the Altar of Heyward at the beginning of the season. I’ll say the hail mary’s/(hail chipper’s, he’s old enough to be biblical right?) from afar.
first suggestion
it should be called “Brave Cave” you refereed to it as your Braves room and Man cave….. Why not combine them?
Spring Training is the greatest thing that can't end soon enough
Wow.
Now that is really cool.

Dear Atlanta Sports,
You've disappointed me more times than I care to remember. Please discontinue this trend in the very near future.

Very nice. Love the jerseys lining the wall. I have a m** c*** at my apartment, acting as a repository for virtually all of my baseball paraphernalia from teams all over the country. Let me ask: What room to do you have for expansion — say, for more signed balls, or more bobbleheads? As your collection grows, do you already have shelves or spaces designated for those purposes? I ask because I’m out of room for my bobbleheads and MacFarlane figures, and I need to think of ways to increase display space.

I have plenty of space
I haven’t shown the entire room yet but there is a lot of space to add more stuff. I just wanted to get everything together first before I show the whole thing.

Nice Job
Only addition would be a Jobu doll from Major League. :)
You’re gonna need more space for a new jersey now.
If we can land [Stephen Drew], I will give FW a bj.

Mad respect!
That’s a sweet hangout man. Keep updates coming… I, too, have a Brave Cave (previously know as a Man Cave before today) and am always looking for ways to add to it or tweak it. Our tastes are similar and if you saw mine, would you agree.
You have the wooden pieces to honor your favorite players. I have a “Man Wall” where I have autographed 8×10′s of people I admire. Of significance are Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Chris Berman (I’m from Buffalo), Jason Heyward, and ahem Jeff Francosomething. Similar concept to one another.
I have a couple oak shelves with the trio of Braves Charity wines (the Chipper Chardonnay, McCann Merlot, and Glavine Chavignaugnnasasn) with bobbleheads and a couple signed balls.
My Heyward mural consists of a signed bat, his jersey, a signed ball, and his bobblehead.
Please keep the updates coming, buddy. It’s really interesting!

Ticket Stubs
I’ve been trying to think of a creative way to use and display significant ticket stubs from games that are historical (ie Heyward’s first HR, 10,000th win, Bobby’s last game, etc). Any ideas on how to do that in a classy manner?

I would have them framed with little brass placards describing the significance.

A coffee/end table with...
a glass top on a felt backing. Place the tickets on the green felt backing and the glass over top. I’ve seen it done before, although I’ve got no clue if it was a specially made piece of furniture or what.

Both of these are great ideas.
I have all my tickets in one spot but not framed or anything yet. I will be doing that sometime in the near future though.

love that murphy plaque
I would really love to have a Maddux one myself. any chance you’d make one for sale?
@TMacAyers. That’s just one wall have not finished the shelves along the top and have a lot more stuff. Up to around 1000 braves autos!
