Braves quotes after Sunday loss to Nationals | Atlanta Braves
Fredi Gonzalez, does it make it tougher to score later when you fail in earlier opportunities? "I don’t know about that. I’ve never been a major league hitter in that situation. But it sure makes it harder on our pitchers, where you feel like you can’t make a mistake or you’re up against it the whole game. And also, I think it adds confidence to the other pitcher, if he gets out of that jam he feels pretty good about himself. If we scored one or two or break the game open it may be a little different story where we don’t have to face Rodriguez, Clippard and Storen later on."
Medlen perfect in first game since surgery | braves.com: News
The Braves activated right-hander Kris Medlen on Saturday and watched him complete a perfect seven-pitch eighth inning in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Nationals. It was his first appearance since undergoing Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery last August.
Gonzalez remains out; Wilson fills in at short | braves.com: News
When Alex Gonzalez aggravated a right calf strain in Miami on Tuesday night, the Braves were hoping he might miss just a couple of games. But when the veteran shortstop revealed he was still feeling some discomfort in his calf Sunday, the club opted to keep him out of the lineup for a fourth straight game. "It's an iffy thing, especially with that calf, manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We'll play it smart."
Club not ruling out Jurrjens pitching in NLDS | braves.com: News
If the Braves qualify for the playoffs, it appears Jair Jurrjens would be unavailable for the National League Division Series. But with questions surrounding their rotation and Jurrjens' right knee feeling better, the club is not ruling anything out. "There is a possibility," manager Fredi Gonzalez said when asked about Jurrjens on Sunday morning. "I like to keep it open."

I still think we may pull this out.
I may also be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome at this point. I’m really not sure.
I would bet your money on it.

My money is on the Cardinals.
And Frediot owes me $60 in non-refundable Ticketmaster fees for my worthless NLDS tickets.
- ChillyMutt
Refund?
I don’t live near a major MLB team so I have no idea how it works.
If you buy your tickets for a NLDS before hand and the team doesn’t make it, you aren’t refunded or are you just referring to the fees Ticketmaster charges?

nonrefundable “Ticketmaster fees” are $60……?
jeez. no wonder those guys are cleaning up…

that is a new thing then
I’ve bought tickets quite a few times on events that never happened and every time was 100% refunded.
Somewhere in Frediotland
Fredi G is still talking about how the Braves aren’t playing bad, just bad luck. How does this Frediot find his mouth with a spoon? What an absolute idiot.

I guess the actual results are meaningless to Fredi….. regardless of the fact that Prado produces lower in the order. Yes, it looks great on paper having him bat 2nd. Bobby tried to force this to happen on 2 or 3 runs last year. Never worked. Move him back to 6th, 7th, the guy’s switch flips on.
Even Bobby eventually learned: Bat the guy lower in the order and the results will come.
Wasn’t Fredi supposedly watching our games into the stretch last year?
Love Prado to death, but he can’t bat 2nd.
If Fredi wants to continue to run this team into the ground over these final 3 days, continue to bat Prado 2nd. I’m guessing this is what he will do. And we will lose.
The scouting report for all of our guys is still very, very, laughably simple: we get ourselves out. No effort at all. We will strand guys at 2nd and 3rd with no outs, and then every one of our swings, from the first pitch, is aiming for the seats. We get ourselves out, every time.
Parrish’s “work” with the team makes TP look like Mozart.

Sad part is looking at the line up, who do you put in the 2 hole? Dont really have another guy you can put there, unless you drop Chipper back down there or bench Heyward and put in Constanza. One thing is for sure, this has been a top to bottom failure by the Braves organization.

We were winning games with Chipper in the 2-hole, but I guess this wasn’t considered a “viable solution.”

Bat him in the 5-hole, then. .404 avg. this year in that spot.

Yep.Chipper is perfect (at this point of his career) for batting #2. He needs to ket go of the ego.
- ChillyMutt
Chipper will bat wherever you put him….
I’m just afraid that Fredi’s one-track mind is obsessed with the potential of Prado batting 2nd and finish it out like this, ultimately undoing us. All could be avoided with a different line-up. My guess is we’ll find out the hard way, though.

#Braves have scored one run or fewer 25 times this year, seven times in their past 27 games and 3 times in their past four games.
It's pretty hilarious how many comments there are about cap tipping on the AJC quotes article...
Considering this is one of the first times this year nobody said anybody about tipping their cap :D
