Too sick to make the trip to Tuscaloosa. Glad to be able to catch this game though
Let’s Go Braves! Get Beach some runs
Not ideal but it worked out last night.
No way Fredi was gonna change things up
Must alternate handedness of batters to highest extent possible!

A win today not only gets the Braves closer to the playoffs
it also eliminates the giants. GO BRAVES!
I would love a repeat of last night with the early runs.
Moylan tweet
Wishing my boy @KrisMedlen54 all the best for today. You’ve worked your ass off brother. Enjoy this day.
Only reaffirms what we already know about Pete
Can’t imagine how he’s feeling right now
i hope if his recovery doesn’t allow him to make a great come back again i really hope he can get a great job with the braves being a coach or something i love that guy
One of my favorite Braves.
He’s always been the one keeping the clubhouse relaxed during even the worst of stretches. This just proves what a classy man and team player Moylan is. I hope his surgery/rehab goes well so we can see the side-armer from down under next year.
Congrats....
To Frenchy on his 20/20 season
Can't wait to kick you guys ass today
and help to keep you out of the playoffs. Today will be payback for the conspiracy that was the strike-shortened season of ’94 when we were clearly going to win the division over you cowards. What goes around comes around—get used to having to deal with Strasburg, Harper, and Werth for the next 15 years!
by NATIONALsLEAGUE on Sep 24, 2011 1:05 PM EDT reply actions
If Werth is playing until he’s 47, that would be impressive. And if he wants to keep putting up 102 wRC+ for money that you guys are paying him, cool with us as well.

You guys definetely have a bright future!
Good luck today as I think you’ll need it. The Braves are focused on not only making the playoffs, but making a run!
And ass is a bad word!

Right, the Braves single-handedly engineered a strike more than a decade in the making.
Btw, on the day that season ended, we would have made the playoffs, too.

I want Bourn to bunt for a hit again today, this series or this season.

Isn't it ironic..
That after all the buzz in spring training, Rodrigo Lopez would be pitching a huge game for the Braves today.
Well Espinosa almost swung at the first one. And the previous swinging strike was a garbage pitch at the eyes, so who knows.

I hate any game called by Tim McClelland.
Not only does his strike zone vary for each pitcher, his delayed reaction of calls is overly annoying.

We’re calling for strike pitches when we have the batter’s 0-2, 1-2 etc.

There used to be an extension in Firefox that allowed you to play embedded media in VLC. VLC allows for an audio delay. I suppose if you combine the two that might work, but I honestly have no idea about how well that would work, if at all.

The sad part is—when we do what we did yesterday—work counts, get hits, get doubles with men on, take advantage of errors, etc, we score tons of runs.
When we all try to hit it into the bleachers, it’s an offensive performance reminiscent of a deflating balloon.

"Forget Roy Halladay or Clayton Kershaw or Cliff Lee, the NL Cy Young Award should go to O’Ventrel." - David Schoenfield, ESPN.com, 8/19/11
Meh. Bourn wasn’t the tying run. This team can only score on homers for the most part, so that base was not that relevant. I’d rather give Chipper/Uggla a chance to bat with men on base.

but I can’t hate on him for sending Bourn there. plus it may have not even been Fredi, I’m sure Bourn has some slack.

which was why I wanted a clinch before that series
so we didn’t HAVE to beat them.
however, we’re going to have to beat them at least once no matter what, maybe twice depening how things go tomorrow.
assuming the Cards keep winning
which is a safe bet, but still.
I can't think anyone will want to just not win and hope that the Cards don't either.
you want to get in on your own steam
not necessarily true
the braves could lose every remaining game with the phillies and win the WS.

A haiku:
Sooner or later
we actually should clinch.
Let’s get on that guys.
oh well now that ive clam down
we win tomorrow with minor !! then go on to braves country and win game one against the phillies with delgado on the mound hopefully the cards lose one of those two and we clinch !!!!
on the Bourn caught-stealing
If Fredi goes out there and argues that call, which was clearly incorrect, some kind of damn gimme call for Pudge based on tenure, I guess, and if Fredi shows some freaking passion and gets thrown out of the game there, we still won’t win, I think, because we’re so inept at the plate. (I mean we have an entire team in a slump simultaneously. Even Michael Bourn who ought to be immune to the Parrish effect.)
But at least it would suggest to the players that these games matter and they ought to be treating them like the WS if they plan to make the first round.
Instead Fredi had the most contented look on his face, a pleasant bovine expression, like he just finished a big plate of spaghetti. I wonder if he even knew Bourn was on base.
"I don't care about that. The players don't want to read about the damn manager." - Bobby Cox after some late 90's milestone.
