When is Sea Bass going to be swimming at short again?

i hope soon they said hes running around taking grounders hitting so i guess they are just being very careful and they said if they lost last night they would of put him in today. im hoping he will come in the 6th as a defensive sub and dominate !!!

A win today not only gets the Braves closer to the playoffs

it also eliminates the giants. GO BRAVES!
I would love a repeat of last night with the early runs.

One of my favorite Braves.

He’s always been the one keeping the clubhouse relaxed during even the worst of stretches. This just proves what a classy man and team player Moylan is. I hope his surgery/rehab goes well so we can see the side-armer from down under next year.

Can't wait to kick you guys ass today

and help to keep you out of the playoffs. Today will be payback for the conspiracy that was the strike-shortened season of ’94 when we were clearly going to win the division over you cowards. What goes around comes around—get used to having to deal with Strasburg, Harper, and Werth for the next 15 years!

by NATIONALsLEAGUE on Sep 24, 2011 1:05 PM EDT reply actions

If Werth is playing until he’s 47, that would be impressive. And if he wants to keep putting up 102 wRC+ for money that you guys are paying him, cool with us as well.

He actually doesn’t have a great out pitch, but all of his pitches are good so he can swing and misses on any of them and keeps hitters guessing. He could K even more if he develops a pitch into a true out pitch.

the team now just needs to do it's part and clinch before wednesday

so we can rest him for Game 1. I absolutely do NOT want him to have to pitch again for more than an inning or two maybe as a tune up.

Even if Bourn wants to run there himself, Fredi needs to have a system in place where he doesn’t let players do dumb shit without his say so.

Bourn has a green light...

…good play to try and get into scoring position, IMHO.

(Plus, the call was bad).

by carpengui on Sep 24, 2011 3:38 PM EDT reply actions

Meh. Bourn wasn’t the tying run. This team can only score on homers for the most part, so that base was not that relevant. I’d rather give Chipper/Uggla a chance to bat with men on base.

by Ivan the Great on Sep 24, 2011 3:39 PM EDT up reply actions

It was horrible he should have been given the red light.

by ATLtruth on Sep 24, 2011 3:41 PM EDT up reply actions

I like to hate on Fredi too

but I can’t hate on him for sending Bourn there. plus it may have not even been Fredi, I’m sure Bourn has some slack.

you also have to think that maybe they wouldn’t throw and focus on the hitter. never know.

he’s definitely done much worse.

by Broccoman on Sep 24, 2011 4:13 PM EDT reply actions

on the Bourn caught-stealing

If Fredi goes out there and argues that call, which was clearly incorrect, some kind of damn gimme call for Pudge based on tenure, I guess, and if Fredi shows some freaking passion and gets thrown out of the game there, we still won’t win, I think, because we’re so inept at the plate. (I mean we have an entire team in a slump simultaneously. Even Michael Bourn who ought to be immune to the Parrish effect.)

But at least it would suggest to the players that these games matter and they ought to be treating them like the WS if they plan to make the first round.

Instead Fredi had the most contented look on his face, a pleasant bovine expression, like he just finished a big plate of spaghetti. I wonder if he even knew Bourn was on base.
