If Albert played in the AFL, they’d have to rename it the AZ/NM Fall League, based on where his homers landed.
The bright side of last night...
Is that I got so drunk and stayed out so late that I was still awake at 2am when this girl texted me for a clear booty call… which I was more than happy to answer.

I am also guarenteeing a win
I have done the winning version of the rain dance , sacrificed a live chicken , threw salt over my left shoulder , and put my lucky rabbits foot on the inside waist band of my boxers . Woo-Hoo ! It’s time for a win .
I’ve decided that no matter what happens, I’m not going to get mad. Whatever happens, happens, and maybe we’ll see some good baseball along the way. Maybe.
Fuck Mike Stanton
I know he killed us yesterday, but we don’t need to pitch around the guy. Just don’t throw any fastballs over the heart of the plate. Breaking stuff away, it’s not like he doesn’t strike out a lot…..

No one really cares too much about helping us.
When we were chasing down the Phillies, everyone was like, “Noesss I am infected with the Philly flu! Woe is me!” When we needed the Phillies to beat the Cardinals, the Phillies were like, “What is baseball and how do you make it?” And so on.

If you make it to Fairbanks/North Pole that’s where I grew up.
People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.
My dad moved up there to work on the pipeline. My mom moved up there to live with her brother who was working on the pipeline. Eventually I was made and I lived there until I was 18. My dad still lives there. My mom lives near Seattle.

Thanks for sharing! I figured many people live there because they get Alaska-specific work up there, but I’ve never been able to confirm that since I know so few people from there.

Yeah. Very much a blue collar place. Lots of construction, laborer, and union jobs up there.
A whole lot of midwesterners up there (Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, etc).

I actually don’t know if I fully agree. Infante dropped the bat head on the one he shot hard foul, but it might be good to save the offspeed stuff for later in the game. You can basically throw an off-speed pitch for a strike if they’ve never seen it from you before, and Delgado might need that at some later point to get out of a jam.

That’s just really, really not true.
Sanchez is a solid workhorse. He sometimes has bad outings, but on the whole he is pretty damn good. 3.29 FIP / 3.18 xFIP. He’s made leaps and bounds in both his strikeouts and walks this season. I would take Sanchez over many, many starters in the league. I would take Lowe over basically none.

Maybe the Braves learned from the NFL...
and this has all been planned. Similar to the lockout, you seemingly take the playoffs away from us and we’re much more excited to see it if and when it happens. Stadium sellouts, lined pockets, much rejoicing.

At this point the team is going to have a big issue in the playoffs, provided they make it, because they won’t have a chance to rest regulars, align the rotation, give Hanson a try at facing big-league hitters, and so on.

I think that poise/confidence is one of the greatest assets for a pitcher. For example, it wasn’t that Jo-Jo Reyes had awful stuff, it was just that any little thing set him off and made him unable to get guys out.

Well, the jackass I’m up against has:
Halladay
Kershaw
Weaver
Greinke
Carpenter
Brian Wilson
Neftali Feliz
K-Rod
and some guy named Verlander so, yeah
Eh, anyone can amass that if they draft mostly pitching.
Only Halladay and Verlander were even close to first-round picks or anything similar. If someone wants to burn their draft to get pitching early, they’re welcome to do so.
