I needed a 14th post (bc I'm superstitious, and have now cleared myself from any psychological mumbo-jumbo resulting in team losses, lol) and figured this would be an interesting subject to discuss.
I'm "going there" because he's my favorite player, and, (when healthy) the best guy on the team. Hall of Famer. etc.
The way his body has broken down over the years, I'm not so sure that the guy will play 115 games in 2012....
But would it be a possibility for him to be our hitting coach and pinch hit / get some starts every now and then? I don't claim to understand all the rules and intricacies of the game, so I'm genuinely interested in discussing this to see if it would even be possible. It may not be the preferred route for him to take, but I could see this as being beneficial to the team for several reasons. Maybe Chipper and his dad could have a little 'Camp Jones' in ST.
Here's hoping Chipper goes on a mad tear for the rest of the 2011 campaign, and beyond.
