The Story of Evan Gattis...

So, who is Evan Gattis? He turns 25 in 3 days even though this is only his 2nd year in pro ball, is the catcher for Rome, just hit his 21st home run, and has a .975 OPS (a whopping 1.381 OPS against LHP). If you are as confused as I am, check this read out. It's an old article so it might have been posted here before, but people have been asking about him so I figured I'd try to help.

Thanks for posting. I was figuring there had to be a story given his age.
And since he has raked all year in Rome, maybe the Braves will give him the chance to move up and see what he can do at high levels. I sure hope so.

That’s a great story, thanks for finding it. Evan’s a great guy when you talk with him, so it’s nice to see that comes out of a real place.

From a baseball standpoint, I think a lot of his success this year comes from working his ass off in the offseason, literally. He came into ST about 40 pounds lighter, looking huge and strong, instead of just huge.
